Delta Health System proudly joins healthcare organizations across the country in celebrating National Nurses Week, May 6–12, 2026. This special week honors the vital contributions of nurses who deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients and families across our hospitals and communities.
“Nurses are the foundation of patient care, combining clinical expertise with genuine compassion in every interaction,” said Iris Stacker, Chief Executive Officer. “Their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to our patients and community make a lasting difference each day. National Nurses Week gives us the opportunity to recognize and thank them for the impact they have across our entire health system.”
Throughout the week, Delta Health System will host a variety of appreciation events to recognize its nursing staff. These celebrations reflect the organization’s gratitude for the essential role nurses play in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Kiyo Holmes, Chief Nursing Officer, shared, “Our nurses exemplify high standards and expertise through their skill, compassion, and resilience. They are leaders, advocates, and caregivers who consistently go above and beyond for those they serve. I am incredibly proud of our nursing team and the standard of care they uphold every day. This week is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate their dedication and the difference they make in the lives of our patients.”
National Nurses Week concludes on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, widely recognized as the founder of modern nursing. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, Delta Health System remains committed to supporting its nurses through ongoing education, professional development, and a strong culture of respect and excellence.
