The Medical Center
What to Bring: Only a few personal articles are needed for your hospital stay. These include a pair of slippers, night clothes and toiletry items. You may want to bring a small amount of money for newspapers and incidentals. If you are allergic to any medications and/or are currently taking medications, please provide us with a list of their names, strengths, and frequency taken.
Smoking and Tobacco: The Medical Center is a tobacco-free facility.
Food and Beverage: The cafeteria is located on the first floor, to the left of the hospital's main entrance. Since food is not allowed in the waiting areas, the cafeteria is open to the public from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Meals are served on the following schedules:
Breakfast 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Lunch 11:15 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
Supper 5:00 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
A 24-hour vending area is located in the hallway across from Registration to serve the needs of visitors and other guests.
Mail and Flowers: Mail and flowers are delivered to your room as they arrive. ICU patients may not have flowers, but are allowed balloons and cards while in the unit. Any mail reaching the hospital after your discharge will be forwarded to your home. The Medical Center's mailing address is:

Outgoing mail may be left at the Information Desk for delivery to the hospital mailroom.
Telephone Service: You may dial any department within the hospital by simply dialing the department's four digit extension. You may dial our operator by dialing "0" for additional assistance. Your friends and family members may dial your room from outside of the facility direct by calling (662) 725-2 + the room number; or if you are a patient in our Strides Physical Rehabilitation Center, they may dial (662) 725-1 + the room number.
Wireless Internet Access: Wireless internet access is available free of charge throughout the hospital for your convenience.

Parking: Parking lots are located conveniently in the front of the hospital, in front of the Heart and Vascular Center and at the entrance of the Emergency Department. Please observe "reserved" signs. For an after-hours security escort, please call, (662) 378-3783.
Visitation: Our visitation policy was established in an effort to maintain an atmosphere conducive to healing, and to provide the rest and privacy needed by our patients. Your help is requested in abiding by these rules.In compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ruling, The Medical Center will inform each patient (or their support person) of their visitation rights, any clinical restrictions or limitation on those rights and their right to receive any visitors they designate. The Medical Center will inform each patient (or support person, where appropriate) of the right, subject to his or her consent, to receive the visitors whom he or she designates, including but not limited to, a spouse, a domestic partner (including a same-sex domestic partner), another family member, or a friend, and his or her right to withdraw or deny such consent at any time. The Medical Center will not restrict or deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability; and will ensure that all visitors enjoy full and equal visitation privileges consistent with patient preferences. Visiting Hours Hospital Wide
6:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
In general, three visitors will be allowed per patient. See the nursing staff in Specialty Units for exceptions to the visiting policy. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. After 8:30 p.m. you will not be able to re-enter the hospital except through the Emergency Room. All emergency patients must enter through the Emergency Room.
Intensive Critical Care Unit
- 10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
- 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- 4:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- 8:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Special safety and infection prevention measures are in place for the safety of our patients. Please see the nursing staff for more details.
Maternal Child Center
- 6:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
- Siblings of newborns may visit during regular visiting hours but no other children under the age of 12 should visit.
- In an effort to promote family -centered care, visitors will be allowed at the patient's request during the labor, delivery and postpartum period at the discretion of the physician I nursing staff.
- Visitors should wash their hands before handling the newborn and persons with infections or known exposure to an infectious illness should not visit.
- Visitors are not allowed to wait in the hallway in order to protect the privacy and insure the comfort of our patients.
Comments and Suggestions: The Medical Center wants to ensure that you receive the best care during your stay. If you have any unanswered questions or comments about your care while at The Medical Center, please do not hesitate to contact the nurse manager on your floor. If you still need additional assistance, please contact the hospital operator, who will put you in touch with the Nursing Supervisor.
