Dr. Abraham was born and raised in Houston, TX. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Houston and completed medical school at International American University, St. Lucia.

There are lots of elements in family medicine that I enjoy and the opportunity it gives me to truly connect with my patients.

In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching sports such as basketball and football as well as working out and exploring the outdoors.

Steven B. Anderson, M.D.

Dr. Anderson was born and raised in northern Utah. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the Utah State University in Logan Utah. He attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine.

His medical interest includes both inpatient and outpatient care. He plans to provide quality adult and pediatric care in rural communities.

In his free time, he enjoys road trips, fishing, and movies. He is always looking for new things to try.

Dr. Chowdhury was born in Bangladesh and raised in Queens, NY. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Math at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. And attended American University of Antigua School of Medicine.

Her medical interest includes Women’s health (OB), Emergency Medicine, and primary care. In the future, she hopes to continue working in rural areas to serve the underserved communities.

During my free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.

“I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. I look forward to starting family medicine residency at MSMERC and work with my colleagues to improve the healthcare system of Greenville, MS. The staff has been very warm and caring. I feel right at home. I am thrilled to be working alongside with my co-residents, who have been very kind and helpful. Practicing in Greenville, MS will enhance my skills in communications, hands on experiences in varieties of specialties, and note taking. I didn’t just gain a job, but also a family at Delta.”

Dr. Horst was raised in Anchorage, Alaska. In the fifth grade she knew she was destined to be a doctor. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage for her undergraduate degree. After graduation Dr. Horst worked as a Certified Medical Assistant before continuing her studies at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten.

Her medical interests include women’s health and primary care.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, geocaching, board games and traveling.

Two quotes she likes to live by are “If you can dream it, then you can do it” and “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible”.

Dominique Joseph, M.D.

Dr. Dominique Joseph was born in Orange, New Jersey and raised in West Orange, NJ. She attained a psychology undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University (NJ) then a biology undergraduate degree and Masters in Public Health at University of Nevada, Reno. After being active in the public health and epidemiology research sector, she returned to school to earn an MD at Saba University School of Medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, distance running, most things sci-fi, and creating comfort foods with friends and family.

I am excited to have joined the MS Delta Family Medicine team for its commitment to improving health outcomes by addressing the holistic needs of individuals. This is complementary to my interests which include preventive medicine, older adult care, and community wellness. “Men anpil, chay pa lou” - Haitian proverb. (Many hands lighten the load)”

Home - Long Island, NY

Dr. Joy was born in Orlando, FL and raised in Long Island, NY. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Women Studies at SUNY Stony Brook University. She attended medical school at Trinity School of Medicine on the island of St. Vincent of the Grenadines and went on to complete her clinical rotations in Baltimore, MD.

Her medical interests include Women’s Health and facilitating access to medical care for marginalized populations.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, visiting Long Island beaches, and expanding her shoe collection.

Dr. Merchant was born and raised in the small town of Elmwood Park, NJ. From a young age she was interested in the medical field and went on to complete her Medical Degree on the beautiful island of St. Lucia.

Some of her medical interests include Primary Care, performing medical procedures, and Geriatrics.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, reading, watching TV shows and movies, spending time with her family and friends, and eating good food.

Anisha Patel, M.D.

Home - Tupelo, MS

Dr. Patel was born in India and raised in Madison, MS. She earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. She attended medical school at the American University of Integrative Sciences.

Her medical interests include primary care and preventive medicine. In the future, she hopes to establish a clinic and continue to serve the community greatheartedly.

In her free time, Dr. Patel loves spending time and traveling with her husband, Jigar and son, Ian. She also enjoys painting, cooking, DIY projects and watching shows on Netflix.

The program offers a great environment for residents to learn and grow as physicians, and I am thrilled to be a part of the MS Delta Family Medicine program.”

Home - Baton Rouge, LA

Dr. Shreve was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Denham Springs, Louisiana. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with additional minors in Psychology and Chemistry at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She attended medical school at St. George’s University where I completed the basic sciences in Grenada, West Indies and has recently completed her Master’s in Public Health degree with a passion for preventative and proactive care.

Her medical interests include all things family medicine - women’s health, integrative medicine, preventative care, caring for patients of all ages, adolescent medicine, geriatrics, mental health, and wellness.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising outdoors, gardening, reading at home with her cats Sunny and Charlie, traveling with Dr. Fardell, oldies but goodies music - especially live bands, and volunteering in the community.

“I believe empathy is at the core of establishing strong, meaningful relationships with patients. I strive to see patients as people first, meeting them wherever they are in life. Family medicine provides the opportunity to be the first responder to most patients while creating the chance to establish trust, hope, and empowerment. Outpatient clinic also offers additional opportunities for establishing longitudinal patient relationships and management of chronic disease and disease prevention. Practicing medicine gives my life purpose, and I am excited to continue my career inspiring others while being an advocate for care and compassion for our vulnerable populations.”
