Dr. Anderson was born and raised in northern Utah. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the Utah State University in Logan Utah. He attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine.

His medical interest includes both inpatient and outpatient care. He plans to provide quality adult and pediatric care in rural communities.

In his free time, he enjoys road trips, fishing, and movies. He is always looking for new things to try.

Home - Queens, NY

Dr. Chowdhury was born in Bangladesh and raised in Queens, NY. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Math at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. And attended American University of Antigua School of Medicine.

Her medical interest includes Women’s health (OB), Emergency Medicine, and primary care. In the future, she hopes to continue working in rural areas to serve the underserved communities.

During my free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, painting, and spending time with her family and friends.

“I am beyond thankful for this opportunity. I look forward to starting family medicine residency at MSMERC and work with my colleagues to improve the healthcare system of Greenville, MS. The staff has been very warm and caring. I feel right at home. I am thrilled to be working alongside with my co-residents, who have been very kind and helpful. Home - Anchorage, AK

Dr. Horst was raised in Anchorage, Alaska. In the fifth grade she knew she was destined to be a doctor. She attended the University of Alaska Anchorage for her undergraduate degree. After graduation Dr. Horst worked as a Certified Medical Assistant before continuing her studies at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten.

Her medical interests include women’s health and primary care.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading, geocaching, board games and traveling.

Two quotes she likes to live by are “If you can dream it, then you can do it” and “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible”.

Dominique Joseph, M.D.

Home - Reno, NV

Dr. Dominique Joseph was born in Orange, New Jersey and raised in West Orange, NJ. She attained a psychology undergraduate degree at Seton Hall University (NJ) then a biology undergraduate degree and Masters in Public Health at University of Nevada, Reno. After being active in the public health and epidemiology research sector, she returned to school to earn an MD at Saba University School of Medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys hiking, distance running, most things sci-fi, and creating comfort foods with friends and family.

I am excited to have joined the MS Delta Family Medicine team for its commitment to improving health outcomes by addressing the holistic needs of individuals. This is complementary to my interests which include preventive medicine, older adult care, and community wellness. “Men anpil, chay pa lou” - Haitian proverb. (Many hands lighten the load)”

Christina M. Joy, M.D.

Medical School - Trinity School of Medicine, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Home - Long Island, NY

Dr. Joy was born in Orlando, FL and raised in Long Island, NY. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Women Studies at SUNY Stony Brook University. She attended medical school at Trinity School of Medicine on the island of St. Vincent of the Grenadines and went on to complete her clinical rotations in Baltimore, MD.

Her medical interests include Women’s Health and facilitating access to medical care for marginalized populations.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, visiting Long Island beaches, and expanding her shoe collection.

Home - Elmwood Park, NJ

Dr. Merchant was born and raised in the small town of Elmwood Park, NJ. From a young age she was interested in the medical field and went on to complete her Medical Degree on the beautiful island of St. Lucia.

Some of her medical interests include Primary Care, performing medical procedures, and Geriatrics.

In her free time, she enjoys dancing, reading, watching TV shows and movies, spending time with her family and friends, and eating good food.

Anisha Patel, M.D.

Medical School - American University of Integrative Sciences, Barbados
Home - Tupelo, MS

Dr. Patel was born in India and raised in Madison, MS. She earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. She attended medical school at the American University of Integrative Sciences.

Her medical interests include primary care and preventive medicine. In the future, she hopes to establish a clinic and continue to serve the community greatheartedly.

In her free time, Dr. Patel loves spending time and traveling with her husband, Jigar and son, Ian. She also enjoys painting, cooking, DIY projects and watching shows on Netflix.

“From the beginning of my interview, I immediately felt like a part of Delta family. There is such a strong sense of family and camaraderie within the program, which is an important aspect for me. The program offers a great environment for residents to learn and grow as physicians, and I am thrilled to be a part of the MS Delta Family Medicine program.”
