The Women's Foundation of Mississippi (WFM) is awarding 12 grants for projects around the state that will advance the mission of economic security for women and girls. Among the dozen chosen is Delta Health System which will utilize the grant funding to implement the Doula Pilot Program in our community.
“At Delta Health System, our priority is ensuring mothers and babies have the support they need for safe, healthy deliveries,” said Iris Stacker, Chief Executive Officer. “Programs like our doula initiative provide encouragement, education, and advocacy for women during pregnancy and childbirth. We appreciate the Women’s Foundation of Mississippi for investing in programs that help give babies in the Delta a strong and healthy start in life.”
Economic security is essential for families to move beyond simply earning a working wage to achieving a livable wage and long-term financial stability. Through these grants, WFM aims to invest in innovative programs and community initiatives that help women and girls build sustainable economic futures and improve the well-being of families throughout Mississippi.
“The Doula Pilot Program allows our Certified Doula team to take an active role in the community by sharing education, resources, and pre-natal support with women who need it most,” said Stephanie Patton, Director of Health System Development. “Together, we are working to empower women to prioritize their health and well-being.”
Delta Health System is dedicated to supporting the health, well-being, and overall quality of life for women in our community. We are proud to be a part of a network that is instrumental in the growth and development of women in Mississippi. It is an honor to receive funds and recognition from WFM, an organization known for relentlessly rallying around the women of our state and giving them the tools and resources they need to make the Magnolia state a better place to live for us all.
