Delta Health System to Host Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event

Delta Health System invites community members to attend Your Health, Your Priority: Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The event will be held in The Phillips Room, adjacent to the West Campus building, located at 300 S. Washington Avenue in Greenville.

This educational event is open to both men and women and is designed to raise awareness about colorectal cancer, the importance of early detection, and the life-saving benefits of routine screenings. Healthcare professionals from Delta Health System will share valuable information about risk factors, screening options, prevention, and the latest recommendations for colorectal health.

Guests will enjoy light refreshments, receive helpful health resources, and have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with local healthcare experts right here at home.

Iris Stacker, Chief Executive Officer of Delta Health System, emphasized the importance of bringing attention to colorectal cancer and encouraging the community to take proactive steps toward better health. “Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when it is detected early through regular screenings,” Stacker said. “Events like this allow us to educate our community and encourage individuals to take that important step toward protecting their health.”

Angie Piaseki, Colon Cancer Survivor, said, “Colon cancer often doesn’t show warning signs until it’s advanced, which makes screening is so important. As a colorectal cancer survivor, I’m here today because my cancer was found when it could still be treated. I want people to know that getting screened isn’t something to fear — it’s something that can save your life. If sharing my story encourages even one person to schedule their screening, then it’s worth it.”

Stacker added that open conversations about screenings can help remove fear and misconceptions that often prevent people from seeking care. “Many people delay screenings because they feel uncomfortable talking about colorectal health, but these conversations truly save lives,” she said. “Our goal is to make sure both men and women understand their risks, know their options, and feel supported in taking control of their health.”

Delta Health System encourages community members to attend Your Health, Your Priority: Colorectal Cancer Awareness Event for an evening of education, support, and empowerment focused on prevention and early detection.
