Delta Health System Introduces Bundle of Hope

Delta Health System Launches New Initiative

“Bundles of Hope” to Support Mothers and Newborns

Delta Health System–The Medical Center is excited to launch Bundles of Hope, a new community initiative designed to provide essential items for newborn babies and offer meaningful support to new mothers in need.

Many families face challenges in providing the necessities for their newborns during the earliest days of life. Through the Bundles of Hope initiative, Delta Health System aims to ensure that every baby has a safe, comfortable, and nurturing start, while easing stress for mothers during a critical time.

With the support of community members, employees, and local partners, Bundles of Hope will collect and distribute donated items directly to babies and mothers served at Delta Health System–The Medical Center.

“At Delta Health System, our mission is rooted in compassion and service,” said Iris Stacker, Delta Health System Chief Executive Officer. “The Bundles of Hope initiative allows us to extend that mission to some of our most vulnerable patients, newborns and their mothers, by providing comfort, dignity, and hope during life’s earliest moments.”

To support the Bundles of Hope initiative, Delta Health System is collecting the following new and gently used baby items:

Items that must be NEW:

  • Diapers (newborn and size 1)

“As a Community Outreach Specialist, I see many families leave the hospital unprepared due to financial hardships or limited access to essential items such as diapers, safe sleep equipment, and clothing. These gaps not only increase stress and reduce maternal confidence but can also contribute to higher risks of infant morbidity and mortality, as well as complications that affect maternal health such as hypertension and diabetes. By addressing this need through a structured donation initiative, the hospital can ensure that every newborn leaves with proper care and support, improve health outcomes, reduce preventable infant and maternal complications, and strengthen trust and engagement with the families we serve.,” said Dianne Beasley-Spears Community Outreach Specialist. She added, “Supporting mothers in this critical period aligns with the hospital’s mission of holistic, compassionate care and demonstrates a commitment to health equity within our community.”

All donated items will go directly to support babies and mothers in need at Delta Health System. “The success of the Bundles of Hope Initiative depends on the strength and generosity of our stakeholders, including community partners, local businesses, faith-based organizations, and civic groups. Their involvement may include donating essential newborn items such as diapers, wipes, clothing, blankets, cribs, bassinets, pack-and-plays, car seats, and hygiene products; volunteering time to assist with sorting and distribution; and partnering with us to raise awareness and ensure the long-term sustainability of this initiative. Together, these efforts help ensure that every newborn and new mother leaves our hospital with the essentials needed for a safe, healthy, and supported start to life,” said Tabatha Jones, Community Champion Coordinator.
